MOT Coaches’ Basic Education for Schools – Third one for 2026!

mot coaches

MOT South Africa proudly hosted its third MOT Coaches Basic Education training of the year, a powerful three-day experience sponsored by Positive Behaviour Intervention & Resource Centre (PBIRC) and supported by the Western Cape Education Department (WCED).

This training brought together passionate educators and change-makers committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. Over the three days, participants engaged deeply with the MOT philosophy, explored the Courage to Live, Courage to Care, and Courage to Say No, and reflected on their own journeys as role models and leaders.

One of the most heartwarming highlights of the weekend was welcoming a parent who had previously attended one of our MOT Parents’ Workshops, and who has now taken the courageous step to become a trained MOT Coach. This speaks volumes about the ripple effect of MOT. When parents not only support the programme but choose to step into the work themselves, it strengthens the circle of care around our youth. We are incredibly proud to see this level of commitment and belief in the MOT mission.

MOT Coaches left not only equipped with practical tools to facilitate sessions, but also personally MOTivated to lead with courage.

One of our newly trained MOT Coaches, Kuhle, shared this reflection:

“Thank you for a wonderful three days of MOT training. The programme was truly inspiring, empowering, and thought-provoking. Thank you for your dedication, passion, and commitment to making a positive impact. It was a privilege to be part of such a transformative experience 🤜🤛.”

Feedback like this reminds us why we do what we do. Each training strengthens our network of adults who are ready to stand alongside young people, guiding, supporting, and inspiring them to make conscious life choices.

The Role of a MOT Coach

A MOT Coach plays an important role in facilitating MOT life-skills sessions for young people.

MOT Coaches support students to better understand themselves, develop resilience, and build the confidence needed to face everyday challenges. Becoming a MOT Coach requires a commitment to MOT’s values: Passionate, Youthful, Innovative, and Sincere (P-YIS).

Educators interested in joining or becoming a MOT Coach can contact training@mot.org.za or give us a call at 021 696 6610.
